Ahaldara Viewpoint: stands as an ideal spot to witness an awe-inspiring sunrise painting the Himalayan peaks with its golden hues. Nestled near Latpanchar, it claims the title of the highest viewpoint within the Mahananda Wildlife Sanctuary. From this vantage point, one can indulge in a sweeping panorama of dense pine forests gracing one side, while on the other, the lush green valleys of tea gardens unfold. The meandering River Teesta gracefully flows through the valleys, adding to the picturesque scene. Namthing Pokhri- Sittong:Nestled in the Shelpu hills near Latpanchar, Namthing Pokhri stands as a tranquil lake, inviting exploration at an elevation of 4,500 feet, making it an essential destination near Sittong. Enveloped by pine forests and veiled in misty clouds, this location exudes a mystical ambiance. The lake not only hosts a variety of birds, butterflies, and plants but also boasts a distinctive feature – it serves as the habitat for the rare and endangered Himalayan salamanders. These lizard-like creatures, exclusive to Namthing Pokhri and Jorpokhri, are safeguarded by a wire fence encircling the lake, with strict regulations against swimming or approaching the water. 

Jogighat Bridge: Nestled near the village of Jogighat, the Jogighat Bridge is a 74-meter-long steel marvel connecting Mungpoo and Sittong. Crossing over the Riyang Khola, a mountain stream meandering through rocky terrain, this bridge is adorned with vibrant Buddhist flags, enhancing both its aesthetic appeal and cultural significance. In 2015, the bridge was inaugurated by the renowned yoga guru Baba Ramdev. Beyond its structural charm, the Jogighat Bridge serves as a notable attraction and a favored picnic spot for locals and tourists alike.                      

Sittong Mud Monastery:The Sittong Monastery, also known as Upper Ghaletar Longho Lepcha Buddhist Monastery or Mana Monastery, is a venerable structure with a 350-year legacy, primarily constructed from bamboo and mud. Nestled in Upper Ghalaytar (Sittong-I), this monastery boasts a rich history and a modest exterior.  To reach this historical site, a descent from the road is required, with vibrant Buddhist flags guiding the way. As you approach, a serene atmosphere envelopes the surroundings, instilling a profound sense of peace upon entering the prayer area.

Cinchona Plantation at Sittong : The Cinchona Plantation at Sittong, Darjeeling, stands as a captivating tourist attraction, offering visitors a unique and enriching experience. Nestled amidst the scenic hills of Darjeeling, this plantation showcases the cultivation of Cinchona trees, the source of quinine, which is crucial in the production of anti-malarial drugs. The lush greenery of the plantation, combined with the backdrop of the Himalayan landscape, provides a picturesque setting for exploration. Visitors can engage in guided tours to learn about the history and cultivation practices of Cinchona, gaining insights into the medicinal significance of these trees.
